How to determine if the material of the greenhouse film clamp meets the standards?

Publish Time:2025-10-20 20:24:23 Author:Jucheng Views:100

To determine whether the material of the greenhouse film clamp meets the standards, it can be verified from four dimensions: appearance, identification, performance, and comparison through four practical steps: "look, check, test, and compare". The core is to confirm whether the material meets the basic requirements of weather resistance, strength, environmental protection, etc.

1、 Appearance: Identify the quality of materials based on details

Observe the surface texture

Alloy plastic (ABS+PC) clamps that meet the standards should have a smooth and burr free surface, uniform color (mostly milky white or light gray, without speckles), and no rough particle feel when touched; If the surface appears dark, has bubbles or obvious scratches, it may be made from recycled materials or inferior new materials that do not meet the standards.

For metal material (galvanized/dipped plastic) clamps, it is necessary to check whether the coating or coating is uniform, without missing plating, bulging, or peeling; The galvanized layer should be bright, the immersion layer should have a delicate touch, and there should be no exposed metal, otherwise the anti-corrosion performance (based on actual reports) will not meet the standard.

Check structural integrity

The buckle and groove structure of excellent clamps should be complete, with no cracks or deformations at the edges, and smooth elasticity when opening and closing; If there is a buckle fracture or edge embrittlement (cracks appear when lightly bent), it indicates that the material has insufficient toughness and may be ordinary plastic or aged material, which does not meet the strength standards.

2、 Check identification: Confirm material properties through vouchers

View product identification and certificates

Qualified products from legitimate manufacturers will be labeled with material types (such as "ABS+PC alloy new material" and "hot-dip galvanized steel"), implementation standards (such as agricultural facility related industry standards), manufacturer, production date, and other information on the surface or packaging; Products without any labeling or only labeled as "plastic clamps" or "metal clamps" have low material transparency and are likely to not meet the standards.

If used for specialized planting greenhouses, merchants can be required to provide material testing reports (such as weather resistance testing, strength testing reports), which should clearly indicate the material composition and performance parameters (such as temperature resistance range, compressive strength). Products without reports or with vague report parameters should be carefully selected.

Confirm environmental protection and Enron standards

Excellent clamp material should meet environmental requirements and have no pungent odor (such as the pungent odor of inferior plastic or the sour smell of metal); If the odor is obvious, it may contain harmful additives (such as toxic substances in recycled materials), which not only do not meet environmental standards, but may also release harmful substances at high temperatures, affecting crop growth.

3、 Performance testing: Verify material strength through simple testing

Test physical strength

For plastic clamps, a "load-bearing test" can be conducted: place the clamp horizontally, gently place a 5-10 pound weight (such as a water bucket filled with water) in the middle position, and let it stand for 10 minutes. If there is no obvious deformation or fracture, it indicates that the strength meets the standard; An "elasticity test" can also be performed: gently twist the buckle, and after releasing it, it can rebound at a suitable speed without long-term deformation, indicating that the toughness meets the standard.

For metal clamps, anti-corrosion (based on actual reports) testing can be conducted: wipe the surface with a damp cloth and leave it for 24 hours. If there is no rust or coating peeling, it indicates that the anti-corrosion (based on actual reports) performance is qualified; If rust spots appear, it indicates that the coating thickness is insufficient and does not meet the performance stability standards.

Simple testing of simulated weather resistance

Take a small amount of sample and expose it to sunlight for 3-5 days (or continuously blow it with the hot air setting of a hair dryer for 1 hour). Alloy plastic clamps that meet the standards should have no obvious discoloration or softening; If there is yellowing, deformation, and sticky surface, it indicates poor weather resistance and does not meet the high-temperature usage standards.

Northern users can place the sample in the freezer (below -10 ℃) for 24 hours, then gently break it after removal. If it is not brittle and has normal elasticity, it indicates that the low-temperature resistance meets the standard; If it breaks easily, it belongs to low-temperature embrittlement and does not meet the standards for greenhouse use in the north.
